Learn how to defend against a kicking assailant. Techniques include defences against all forms of kicks including circular and straight as well as varying heights and angles, from beginner level to expert level.

Kick Defences
  • Low Roundhouse Defence

    Episode 1

    • Semi passive stance
    • Using 90 degree outside leg defence block kick
    • Try to keep toes upwards
    • Stabilise and counter with same hand
    • Continue to counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

    NB: Always train safely and within your ability

  • Front Groin Snap Kick Defence - Hands

    Episode 2

    • Semi passive stance
    • Deflect using hand defence - little finger downward
    • Target close to attackers ankle as possible
    • Combine hand and body defence
    • Move out of the channel and counter as soon as possible
    • Once threat over scan for other threats
