Knife Defences
  • Side Knife Threat

    Episode 1

    • Semi passive stance
    • Lean away from attacker
    • Deflect knife holding hand away at the wrist
    • Stabilise and counter with side kick
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

    NB: Always train safely and within your ability

    IMPORTANT: NEVER use a real knife or sharp object to train

  • Front Straight Knife Stab High

    Episode 2

    • Semi passive stance
    • Body defence combined with a deflection defence
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Continue counter if possible and create space
    • Scan for second attacker

    NB: Always train safely and within your ability

    IMPORTANT: NEVER use a real knife or sharp object to train

  • Front Knife Threat Mid to High

    Episode 3

    • Semi passive stance
    • Lean away from attacker
    • Deflect knife holding hand away at the wrist
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Charging Attacker with Knife V1

    Episode 4

    • If unable to escape
    • Face attacker
    • Execute a front stomp kick to attackers midriff
    • Create space
    • If threat over scan for second threat

  • Overhead Knife Attack

    Episode 5

    • Semi passive stance
    ¶ Step out the channel
    • Rotate inwards using a double hand defence
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Front Knife Threat Low

    Episode 6

    • Semi passive stance
    • Lean away from attacker
    • Deflect knife holding hand away at the wrist
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Front Oriental Single Knife Attack

    Episode 7

    • Semi passive stance
    • Using nearest arm in a 90 degrees angle
    • Move body away as block attack
    • Block as close to attackers wrist as possible
    • Create space counter if needed
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Rear Knife Threat

    Episode 8

    • Semi passive stance
    • Lean away from attacker
    • Deflect knife holding hand away at the wrist
    • Stabilise
    • Counter using back kick
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker
