Defences for 10 most Common Attacks
  • Overhead Knife Attack

    • Semi passive stance
    ¶ Step out the channel
    • Rotate inwards using a double hand defence
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

    NB: Always train safely and within your ability

    IMPORTANT: NEVER use a real knife or sharp object to train

  • Straight Punch Defence - Deflect & Counter

    • Semi passive stance
    • Deflect using nearest hand close to attackers wrist
    • Combine hand and body defence
    • Move out of the channel and counter as soon as possible
    • Once threat over scan for other threats

    NB: Always train safely and within your ability

  • Circular Punch Defence - Medium Short Distance

    • Semi passive stance
    • Block using nearest hand close to attackers wrist
    • Combine hand and body defence
    • Move out of the channel and counter as soon as possible
    • Once threat over scan for other threats

  • Single Hand Jacket Grab V2

    • Stabilise in semi passive stance
    • Rotate away and create space between
    • With inwards motion execute a double rotation
    • Create space in semi passive stance
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Front Double Hand Choke V1

    • Semi passive stance and stabilise
    • Using opposite arm and leg, step back and raising arm
    • Rotate body to break grip
    • Rotate back with counter
    • Counter and create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Rear Naked Choke V1

    • Stabilise
    • Using U-grip pluck and pull down and control arm
    • Turning head and body step deep diagonally backwards
    • Lift arm the side you are turning
    • Counter to groin
    • Continue to counter with hands and legs
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Front Knife Threat Low

    • Semi passive stance
    • Lean away from attacker
    • Deflect knife holding hand away at the wrist
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Front Straight Knife Stab High

    • Semi passive stance
    • Body defence combined with a deflection defence
    • Stabilise and counter
    • Continue counter if possible and create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Side Headlock V2

    • Stabilise
    • Turn head
    • Strike groin and push attacker away at base of spine
    • Create space
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Ground Choke between the Legs

    • Control hands
    • Create space and turn on your side
    • Using foot press strike attackers leg away at knee
    • Send counter knee into attackers side
    • Once attacker is off balance and falling to side roll away
    • Get to feet and create space
    • Scan for second attacker
