Various techniques and advice when face with an attacker or threat on the ground including, chokes, strikes and weapons threats and attacks.

Ground Fighting
  • Back Breakfall

    Episode 1

    • Falling backwards, bend legs
    • Tuck chin into your chest
    • Using inside of forearms displace impact energy
    • Get into Ground Fight Stance
    • Get up in appropriate way

  • Ground Knife Threat to Right of Throat

    Episode 2

    • Bring feet up to your bum
    • Redirect knife away from throat using both hands
    • Bridge that direction and roll onto attacker
    • Press, rotate and control attackers knife arm
    • Multiple counters and when safe to escape
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Ground Forearm Choke

    Episode 3

    • Bring feet up to your bum
    • Control stabilising arm pulling into your body
    • Strike press attackers elbow and bridge that direction
    • Keep feet flat
    • Once attacker is off balance and falling to side roll away
    • Counter if needed or Escape
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Ground Full Mounted Hands Controlled

    Episode 4

    • Bring feet up to your bum
    • Position arms to a 6 o'clock position
    • Bridge keeping feet flat, then either:
    - Once attacker is off balance and falling to side roll away
    or
    - Continue ontop of attacker and counter before escaping
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Stomp Kick to Head

    Episode 5

    • Get into Ground Fight Stand asap
    • Using forearm and body defence to redirect the kick away
    • Counter to the groin
    • Use attacker to push yourself away and create space
    • Get up in appropriate way
    • Scan for second attacker

  • Ground Full Mounted Front Choke V2

    Episode 6

    • Bring feet up to your bum
    • Pluck and control arm the side you wish to bridge
    • Keep feet flat, bridge and press strike attackers side
    - Continue ontop of attacker and counter
    • Switch guards and escape
    • Scan for second attacker
